CREATIVE PARTNER

Halsey Burgund

After getting a degree in geophysics, designing and building furniture and working in the high tech industry, Halsey is now a sound artist and technologist. His work focuses on the combination of modern technologies – from mobile phones to artificial intelligence – with fundamentally human “technologies”, primarily language, music and the spoken voice. Halsey created Roundware, the open source contributory audio augmented reality (AR) platform, which has been used to create art/education installations for cultural organizations internationally and is the co-founder of AudioAR.org. His most recent project, In Event of Moon Disaster, uses deepfake technology to create an alternative history of the Apollo 11 moon landing to both warn of the dangers of misinformation as well as showcase the aesthetic potential of synthetic media. Halsey is excited to be involved with TEA because of the supportive community of independent creative individuals and organizations it fosters. A community which will, no doubt, generate both inspiration and opportunity.
